Marathon Day: The Aftermath.
It's been just over thirty days since the marathon. My muscles are officially all healed up, my illiotibial band is no longer causing me daily grief and I'm back to an increasingly regular schedule of running each week. Basically everything's back to normal, except for my period, which is two weeks late. I think I got knocked up by the marathon. Either that or by my girlfriend, either of which are equally unlikely and equally impressive.
My dad sent me the pictures he took during the marathon. He had a disposable camera with 24 pictures on it. He took one picture of my girl and her mom, one picture of me running, two pictures of me after the marathon and twenty pictures of puppydogs. But of those three pictures of me is the picture that I feel best captures the way I felt after finishing:
