In honor of the Oscars, which I did not watch
a brief synopsis of my favorites in movies.

Favorite Actor: Philip Seymour Hoffman

Favorite Actress: Lili Taylor

Best chase scene in a movie: (tie) opening scene in the Matrix, that scene involving the truck and the motorcycle in T2: Electric Boogaloo

Best steamy scene in a movie: The scene in Dirty Dancing where Baby is scared of what she saw and of what she did, but most of all she's scared of walking out of that door and never feeling again the way she feels when she's with Johnny Castle. Dance with her Johnny, and when you dance with her, lift up her left leg, but don't lift it once, oh no Johnny, lift it twice.

Best kiss in a movie: The kiss on top of the table at the end of Sixteen Candles

Best soundtrack: Until the End of the World

Best moment of desperation in love: (tie) "I gave her my heart, she gave me a pen" and the boombox scene, both from Say Anything

Best moment of brilliance in which I decide that you will forever be my favorite actor: The scene on the boat in The Talented Mr. Ripley in which Philip Seymour Hoffman crosses and uncrosses and recrosses his legs.

Most often seen movie, proportional to release date: (tie) Dirty Dancing, The Breakfast Club, Office Space

Most inappropriate movie I've ever seen on a date: Andy Warhol's Frankenstein in 3-d

Favorite movie nobody else seems to have seen: Highway 61
