at the risk of being all woe is me
Thing is, I'm training for a marathon. Thing is, I've lost a lot of weight since the fall. This was on purpose. Between dieting and then exercising the extra weight is coming off. Because of marathon training, I need to eat a lot. If I run for more than three hours, like I do most Saturdays, I burn AT LEAST 2200 calories. That's a day's worth of food extra that I need to make up for, just for ONE RUN.
People have been giving me a lot of compliments on how I look, which I have to say I love (I love it less when it comes in the form of honks from cars while I'm running, but hey...) but more than I get compliments I get jealousy talks. Alana, you look so great lately! I'm so jealous of how you've slimmed down. or, You get to eat all of that? Oh man, I wish I could eat all of that.
Thing is, I'm still watching what I eat. I still think of myself as on a diet. And, did I mention I'm running about forty miles a week? I'm not some little bird with high metabolism who can eat whatever I want to and not gain weight. When people covet the food I have on my plate, I'm like Dude, you could eat all of this too if you were running twenty miles tomorrow. It's not like this is all one big easy accident, folks.
As you were.
