I'm being kind of naughty right now, because even though it is after 10:00 (that being the time I should be at work) I am at home, sitting at my computer sipping coffee and eating oatmeal that needs some brown sugar. I am doing this because I am tending to my cat who just got back from getting his vaccinations, and although appears to be fine needs to be "minded" for the next hour. And I am just the woman for the job. For those of you who are curious as to what said cat is currently doing during his minding period, I will tell you. He is sitting at the doorway to the bathroom staring in. He has been doing this for several minutes now. He is also purring.

Things you should know about my trip home:
1. Someone threw up on my parents' front porch the first night I was there. I think it is reasonable for me to believe it was someone who knew me.
2. Most shops in San Jose's Japantown are closed on Sundays.
3. The vegetable dishes at Chef Ming's Chinese BBQ takeout contain bits of meat.
4. A raccoon tried to get in through the cat door at Z**'s house on New Year's Eve.
5. My little cousin, Michael, whom I used to babysit when he was a baby is now a Junior in High School and as tall as me.
6. Two of the paintings in the room formerly known as my room disturb me because only one of the three people have feet, and one of the women has a postage mark on her skirt.
7. When you are hanging out with friends who have a dog named "Lana" you will turn your head everytime someone says the dog's name, thinking they are butchering your name. You will then see Lana prancing toward the namecaller and realize your err.
8. The flight to San Jose was filled with "drama" such as the need to stay grounded for an additional hour so they could complete "paperwork" and then the announcement that they accidentally put a puppydog on our flight that was supposed to be going to Florida but not to worry, they got it off before we took off. And then there was the medical emergency wherein the flight attendant first asked if there were any Portuguese speakers on the flight to help communicate with a passenger and then a few moments later she asked if there were a doctor on board to help with a potential medical emergency. We did not have to make an emergency landing, but once we did land we all stayed in our seats while some guys came on with a wheelchair to take her away and then the resident who sat with her walked off behind them while giving the thumbs up sign to the Portuguese translator now seated at the back of the plane.

That's all I can think of for now. I have to go find my cat and check his vitals before leaving for work.
