When I become a world famous stand-up comedian and am constantly touring with my hour or two-hour long show, I am going to act like I am in a musical or an opera. Not onstage or anything, but offstage. I will always protect my voice. I will wear scarves except in summer. I will drink hot tea with lemon. I won't talk much during the day. I will show up at the theater/club a few hours in advance, to apply my stage make-up and get into character. I won't do shows more than 2 days in a row (my precious voice!) and, this is most important, I will do vocal warmups. I will go through the scales over and over. I will do the bumble bee scales. I will do tongue twisters. Hours and hours of vocal warmups.
